Hello, iam Debbie Grier, Have an A+ day.

Whoa! Taking care of a Venus flytrap is no small feat. But don’t worry, with the right know-how and a little TLC, you’ll have your flytrap thriving in no time. Feeding your Venus flytrap is an important part of keeping it healthy - so let’s get started!

Should I Feed All My Venus Flytraps? [Solved]

People often ask us about feeding their Venus flytraps - how often do they need to be fed, can they eat stuff like hamburgers, or does it have to be bugs? Well, in this video we’ll answer all those questions and more!

  • Use distilled or rain water: Venus flytraps should only be watered with distilled or rain water, as tap water contains too many minerals and chemicals that can harm the plant.

  • Water from the bottom: To avoid getting the leaves wet, it is best to water from the bottom of the pot by filling a tray with a few inches of water and allowing it to soak up through the soil.

  • Feed sparingly: Venus flytraps should only be fed small insects such as flies, gnats, and spiders. Overfeeding can cause root rot and other problems.

  • Provide adequate sunlight: Venus flytraps need at least 6 hours of direct sunlight each day in order to thrive.

  • Monitor humidity levels: The ideal humidity level for a Venus flytrap is between 50% and 70%. If necessary, use a humidifier or misting bottle to increase humidity levels in your home.

Feeding Venus flytraps is pretty easy - just give them a few insects every now and then. You don’t need to feed them too much, though - they’re not gluttons! Just drop in a few flies or spiders every couple of weeks and you’ll be good to go. And don’t worry if you forget - they won’t starve, as long as you remember to water ’em.
